Where is a good place to meet new friends . . .years after college and haven't had any new friends?

SINCE college. Now 15 yrs. later. Just realized that I may be becoming a social retard. Sorry for expression. Computer guy came to clear up the virus in my computer (got from thinking it might be fun to look at an adult site), and I could not keep up with the conversation because I just spend so much time alone. He was scintillating and dynamic . . . and really I forgot certain words like I was becoming retarded all these years and didn't even know it . . . knew I was horribly, terribly lonely . . . thought I might suffer some emtionally and socially, psychologically . . . but didn't know that perhaps a person can lose IQ points or FORGET HOW TO chime into a conversation and nourish and maintain a productive conversation . .I really liked him a lot . . .not just cause I was lonely . .AND FRICKIN' COULDN'T REMEMBER some almost common words. I am scared sh*tless. My mom always says (she's in another state) go to church. I've done that couple times years ago. Where else?
