Why are my ears constantly popping=(?

for several weeks now, my ears have been popping almost every day. Sometimes I'll get one or two that almost hurt. Also my left ear is jacked up because 90% of the popping comes from that ear and when i lightly push the outside part in theres a squishy type sound that sounds gross and if I even lightly ring it my ear starts to hurt. Please help, why does this happen, and what can i do to make it stop?
