How can I remove wallpaper without buying chemicals to paint on it?

I have used the spraying water technique and then using a scr thing to get it off but it is taking a veryy long time to get it off. I understand that it requires patience but this is taking longer than it should so I was wondering if anyone had a home remedy that might make the adhesive come off more easily?
