2006 mini cooper s vs 2007 mini cooper s?

it is really a personal question since the two are very similar. well at least most would say that. i own an 05 mini and am very partial to the older design. i dont like the new one very much. the steering is too twitchy.(probably because they went from a hydraulic ist to electronic isted steering) i always prefer the more mechanical feel. the new one isn't any faster, at least that i can feel and it is missing the supercharger whine, which is so great! the styling is also not any better, im thinking it might even be worse. basically the only thing i envy about the new minis is the gas mileage. every little drop seems to matter these days.
